The Alkaline Body

We all know that for better skin long term, what we put into our bodies is more important than what we put on it.  The largest organ we have is our skin and blemishes on our skin are often a reflection of how well or not well our insides are. The more visible blemishes, acne or bumps on the skin essentially means your body is high on the acidic side (or low pH). But folks it’s reversible! By eating clean and alkalizing the body you can obtain clear, glowing skin.

We recommend a simple way to ease your body into alkalinity to get that gorgeous plump looking skin!

Just like any vinegar, ACV is acidic outside of the body. But when ingested it has an alkaline effect and the ability to raise the pH level. We suggest using raw unfiltered, unprocessed ACV preferably organic which is murky and brown. Real organic ACV is made by fermenting pressed apple juice until the sugars turn to vinegar. It is very potent and the bottle should be shaken before use to obtain the beneficial enzymes, pectin and trace minerals found in the settling elements (aka the “mother”).  It is best to dilute the ACV or you will be in for a real sting in the throat and chest!

Best taken: 1-2 teaspoons of ACV diluted in a glass of water or juice in the morning. (*if you are taking any medications, talk to your doctor first to make sure it won’t interfere with any that you are presently on)

ACV                                          ACV has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.

From here on out, make every effort to make snacks and meals for the day at least 70-80% alkaline food based. Fill yourself with:

*Lots of water.
*Veggies and sprouts. Think big salads!
*Fruits. Watermelon is the most alkaline, so eat it up, while it’s hot and summer is still around!
*Quinoa and Millet grains.
*Nuts. Except peanuts, cashews and pistachios eat those in moderation.

Here’s a simple fresh salad that we’ve been ‘lovin on this summer: Watermelon Salad

Alkaline Salad Fresh salad greens with watercress and watermelon. Just add your favorite light vinaigrette.

So go and eat those delicious foods that love your skin!
